Create memorable dining experiences in one of Somerset’s most exclusive settings, where every stay is different and every plate is personal.
Our Chef de Partie
As Chef de Partie at Yarlington, you’ll help deliver an exceptional and highly personalised food experience for guests staying in our luxury private residences. Working closely with the Yarlington Head Chef, you’ll create everything from relaxed breakfasts and informal lunches to beautifully tailored dinners and special occasions, adapting each experience around individual guest preferences and dietary requirements.
Yarlington will be your primary focus, and when required you’ll also work across other kitchens at The Newt, supporting wider food operations as coordinated by the Head of Food. You’ll need to be adaptable and confident moving between different kitchen environments, menus and styles of food while maintaining the high standards expected across the estate. You’ll also support the Yarlington Head Chef with staff food, helping to keep both guest and colleague dining running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver breakfast, lunch and dinner services to consistently high standards of food, presentation and service.
- Create ready-to-eat food and tailored dishes for guests, following agreed menus, specifications and food-safety requirements.
- Respond thoughtfully to pre-booked and reasonable ad-hoc guest requests, including dietary requirements and individual preferences.
- Work alongside the Yarlington Head Chef to prepare and provide staff food at Yarlington.
- Organise guest food orders and help ensure the residences are appropriately stocked ahead of planned stays and services.
- Maintain excellent standards of food safety, hygiene, allergen management and Health & Safety.
- Communicate closely with the Yarlington Head Chef and Butler team to coordinate food preparation and service around guest requirements.
- Support larger events and complex bookings and, when required, work across other estate kitchens while adapting confidently to different menus and operating styles.

- Broad culinary skills across different dishes, meal periods and styles of service.
- Confidence producing food consistently to agreed quality and presentation standards.
- A thoughtful and adaptable approach to individual guest preferences, dietary requirements and changing service needs.
- Sound practical knowledge of food safety, hygiene, allergens and Health & Safety in a professional kitchen.
- The ability to work independently while communicating effectively with kitchen, service and wider estate teams.
