Our Creative Copywriter
We’re seeking a talented storyteller to join our Media team at The Newt in Somerset. As our Creative Copywriter, you’ll craft captivating content that embodies the beauty, charm and heritage of our estate. Following and developing tone-of-voice brand guidelines, you’ll use language to bring to life the unique stories, characters and history that make The Newt shine — across our four pillars: STAY, VISIT, TASTE and SHOP. From newsletters and digital campaigns to website copy and press releases, your words will inspire guests and members to experience the world of The Newt.
Key Responsibilities
- Create high-quality, engaging copy across all marketing channels, from digital to print.
- Maintain The Newt’s voice and position as a leader in luxury travel and hospitality.
- Understand our diverse audiences – from members to hotel guests – and tailor copy that resonates.
- Collaborate with marketing and creative teams on seasonal campaigns that inform and inspire.
- Optimise website and SEO copy to drive engagement, conversion and awareness.
- Produce compelling content for newsletters, social media, and PPC ads.
- Ensure grammatical accuracy and consistency in tone across all communications.
- Manage multiple projects to tight deadlines while maintaining creativity and precision.

What we're looking for
- Strong experience as a copywriter with a portfolio of engaging, high-conversion work.
- Educated to degree level in English, Journalism, Marketing or a related field.
- Experience creating content across multiple media, including digital, print and social.
- Proven understanding of SEO and digital marketing principles.
- Native-level English with excellent grammar and storytelling ability.
- Passion for hospitality, heritage, luxury travel, gardens, and food and drink.
- Experience using CMS platforms and AI tools to support content creation.
- Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to thrive under tight deadlines.
