Our Restaurant Manager

The Restaurant Manager will lead the Farmyard Kitchen with energy, warmth and a genuine passion for hospitality. Creating a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere, you will ensure every guest enjoys an exceptional dining experience from arrival to departure.

Working closely with the Head Chef, you will drive seamless collaboration between front and back of house while leading and developing a confident, engaging front of house team. You will champion estate produce, bring the story of The Newt to life for guests and ensure service reflects the restaurant’s relaxed yet refined sharing-plate dining experience.


With exciting plans to expand the restaurant in the near future, this is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious manager who is ready to grow with the business and help shape the next chapter of the restaurant’s success.


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the restaurant operates in the most productive and efficient way through effective cost control, staffing management and sales analysis
  • Deliver an exceptional guest experience by creating a warm, welcoming and engaging restaurant atmosphere
  • Lead, motivate and develop the front of house team, maintaining high standards of service, presentation and teamwork
  • Oversee recruitment, training and development of team members to build a confident and knowledgeable team
  • Champion estate produce and ensure the team can confidently share the story behind the food and dining experience
  • Work closely with the Head Chef to maintain seamless communication between front and back of house
  • Maintain systems that ensure the restaurant’s standards, organisation and presentation remain consistently high
  • Support the preparation and operational planning for the restaurant’s future expansion

Where you'll be working

Our Hotel Food & Beverage team operates across two restaurants within our hotels on the estate: The Farmyard and Hadspen House.

The Farmyard is a reimagined dairy set within the rolling Somerset hillside and forms part of our newest hotel project. The property features 17 guest rooms within a renovated farmhouse and outbuildings, alongside a swimming pool, games room, honesty bar, and a 40-cover restaurant.

The Farmyard Kitchen is open from breakfast through to dinner and celebrates estate produce, with cooking centred around a wood-fired oven and an open kitchen where chefs serve directly to the table. The menu is seasonally led, offering hearty yet humble sharing plates designed to be enjoyed together. Service is relaxed yet refined, delivered in a beautiful stone barn setting.
