32 hours per week, including weekdays and weekends, with early shifts starting at 6.30am and late shifts finishing at 9pm.

Due to the location of the estate, a driving licence is recommended for this role.

Our Spa Therapist & Host

From restorative treatments to a warm welcome, you’ll help our guests feel cared for throughout their time at The Spa at The Newt in Somerset. Combining hands-on therapy with hosting and reception duties, this varied role offers the opportunity to deliver exceptional treatments while supporting the thoughtful details that make each visit feel effortless.

Working closely with our spa and hotel teams, you’ll welcome guests, coordinate appointments and deliver treatments inspired by the estate’s herbs and botanicals. Whether you’re in the treatment room or welcoming someone at reception, your expertise, attentiveness and calm approach will help create a memorable wellbeing experience.


Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests with warm, professional and personalised care, anticipating their needs throughout their visit.
  • Deliver spa treatments to a five-star standard, following training and treatment protocols.
  • Coordinate appointments and respond thoughtfully to booking requests and schedule changes.
  • Support reception duties, including handling payments, telephone calls and guest enquiries.
  • Maintain a calm, welcoming environment and consistent standards across the spa.
  • Work closely with the spa and hotel teams to support the smooth running of daily operations.
  • Participate in workshops throughout the year and contribute to their guest-facing delivery as required.
  • Follow all health and safety training, procedures and business requirements.

What we’re looking for

  • NVQ Level 2 and 3 Spa Therapy qualifications, or equivalent, with strong experience delivering spa treatments.
  • Relevant massage or holistic therapy certifications, such as Swedish massage, deep tissue or aromatherapy.
  • An attentive approach to guest care, with the ability to anticipate needs and maintain consistently high standards.
  • Clear written and verbal communication in English, alongside basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office.
  • Good organisation and time management, including the ability to complete treatments within allocated appointment times.
  • A collaborative, constructive approach, taking responsibility for your work and responding positively to feedback.
  • Previous hosting, reception or customer service experience, ideally within a spa or hospitality setting, would be an advantage.
  • International spa experience and additional holistic therapy qualifications would be welcome.

The Hammam is a key feature of the Spa, offering natural cleansing and heat-based rituals central to our wellness philosophy.
