Our Bartender

As a Bartender in our Botanical Rooms Bar, you’ll bring energy, skill and personality to every service. From expertly crafted classics and seasonal cocktails to premium wines, estate-produced cyders and local beers, you’ll serve every drink with care and confidence. Working closely with our restaurant and kitchen teams, you’ll deliver warm, knowledgeable service while helping to create memorable experiences for every guest.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to our high standards.
  • Deliver friendly, attentive and personalised service to every guest.
  • Recommend cocktails, spirits, wines and estate beverages with confidence.
  • Build a strong understanding of seasonal menus and beverage pairings.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and beautifully presented bar.
  • Monitor stock levels, replenish supplies and support accurate inventory and wastage reporting.
  • Process guest orders and payments accurately using the point-of-sale system.
  • Support the creation of seasonal cocktails and special beverage offerings.

What we’re looking for

  • Previous experience as a bartender or in a similar hospitality role.
  • A passion for hospitality and creating exceptional guest experiences.
  • Strong knowledge of classic cocktails, spirits, beers, wines and beverage preparation.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • A friendly, confident and professional approach.
  • The ability to remain calm and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • A flexible approach to evenings, weekends and public holidays.
  • An interest in mixology, seasonal ingredients and local Somerset produce; WSET qualifications would be an advantage.

Working as part of the Botanical Rooms Food & Beverage department, the Bar Team is responsible for delivering outstanding drinks service in a welcoming and professional environment. From expertly prepared classic cocktails and premium wines to estate produced cyders, locally produced beers, and non-alcoholic creations, every drink is served with care and attention to detail.

The team works closely with restaurant colleagues, chefs, and other departments to ensure every guest receives a seamless and personalised experience. The focus is always on warm hospitality, product knowledge, and anticipating guests' needs.

The department offers a varied and fast-paced working environment. Team members have opportunities to develop their knowledge of beverages, local produce, mixology, and food pairing while working alongside experienced hospitality professionals. Training, collaboration, and continuous development are at the heart of the team, making it an excellent place to build a rewarding career in luxury hospitality.
